What are the quilts we're making together?

Starting on January 1st, we will being working on the Rainbow Log Cabin quilt. This large, traditional quilt is filled with bright fabrics and is sure to cheer you up in the middle of January. We'll piece this quilt all in one big piece, then quilt it together - yes! On a home machine!

This project will run from January 1st until February 19th with new posts being shared every Monday.

Remember - all you need to join this quilt along is a copy of the book Explore Walking Foot Quilting with Leah Day.

After completing the Rainbow Log Cabin quilt, we'll jump right into another quilt project. Prism Path is a beautiful baby quilt created with simple Bargello style piecing.

The smaller size of this quilt will make it that much easier to quilt on your home machine so you can change up these designs and try out new ideas as you quilt this fun baby quilt.

Posts for Prism Path will be shared each Monday and begin on April 2nd.

Walking Foot Quilting Designs

But that's not all...we're also going to begin machine quilting many walking foot quilting designs. Stitching out the designs into small squares will give you a feel for this style of quilting, but on a much more manageable project.

At the end of the quilt along, you'll have 30 squares created so trim and connect your favorite 20 to create the Marvelous Mosaic Quilt.

This style of quilting is called Quilt-As-You-Go which means you quilt each block separately, then trim them down and connect them together at the end to create the finished quilt.

New walking foot design videos will be shared each Friday from January through April, then new posts will be shared on Monday and Friday until June 8th.

I can't wait to teach you how to create these three beautiful quilts! Remember - all you need to join this quilt along is a copy of the book Explore Walking Foot Quilting with Leah Day.

  3. Hi Leah, My machine has the integrated dual feed system. Im asuming that this means I do not need a separate foot to quilt this, is that correct? I just need to engage it. Im loving the videos . Thank you Marjo
